Junior Competitive Squad Athlete, Nathan Breen has finished off his Junior Triathlon competition in the best way possible, an U19 Sprint Distance Age Group World Championship victory in Cozumel Mexico last month.
In his last season as a junior Nathan invested in a trip to Mexico to compete in the ITU Junior Aquathlon World Championships and the U19 Age Group World Championships. With a swimming and running background Nathan was his own biggest critic with a ‘disappointing’ Aquathlon event, but turned that disappointment around just 24 hours later in oppressive heat and humidity to hold off a local Mexican for the win. Nathan lead out of the water, stayed safe and contributed to the lead pack on the bike before coming off the bike with 13 other Juniors to run away with the victory.
Nathan now plans to race the National U23 Development Series in Australia before obtaining his Professional Licence and stepping into domestic Continental Cups in the new year.
