Well it has been a long time between updates for our senior squad. But that doesn’t mean nothing has been happening. We are now drawing to a close on 2017 and that means the end of the first half of the Aussie season.
Things started off in Rotterdam for the senior crew at the ITU Worlds and Sally Hill and Tracey Crawford representing Australia with pride. With ITU Worlds on in Australia next year we have really ripped into the short course racing in a big way. We have seen a couple of sprint qualifiers with Kurnell and Jackie Fairweather done and dusted. We have had some great results on the board with plenty of points in the bank. We also had a great day at the Nepean Triathlon. This is looking good for us and next year the sprint athletes will hit up Husky and Luke Harrop predominantly. The Standard Distance athletes are now in prep and ready to get their teeth into their campaigns as well. Won’t be long and we will see how things are playing out for them.
Internationally HPT are very well represented. With athletes in Great Britain, Sweden, Malaysia, India and Germany there have been many races where we have been on the big stage.
The long course athletes haven’t disappointed. Last week we went very well at Western Sydney and before that at Sunshine Coast, Forster and The inaugural Long Course Weekend. The LC crew now hit up their preps for races such as Husky Long, Alpine Ascent, Port Mac, Taupo, and Cairns.
But first off in January we have a HPT Enticer Challenge down in Nowra. Should be lots of fun and lots of sledging.
