Peter Clifford.

MY COACHING PHILOSOPHY :

My number 1 goal is to make you a faster athlete.

I believe that sustained excellence is based on a foundation where the athlete has achieved personal balance. I encourage diversity in the athlete’s development by racing different types of events and distances. I like athletes to race regularly.

I believe in consistency, hard work and love for the sport. I work hard on the athlete being able to sustain the best load possible appropriate to their goals and stage of development. Consistency is king.

I have 32 years in the sport as a competitor, coach and coach educator.

EXPERIENCE:

Professional Athletes :

I have 15 years experience coaching professional long course athletes with demonstrated success. I have also taken 3 athletes from age group to professional licences.

Major Race Wins

Western Sydney 70.3
Challenge Jeju

Major Race Podiums

Challenge Melbourne
Ironman New Zealand
Busselton 70.3
Port Macquarie 70.3
Japan 70.3

Plus numerous race wins and podiums at a local level

Age Group Athletes :

Age group success has many meanings. It can be taking a new athlete to successfully completing their first Ironman or it can mean taking an elite age group athlete to qualifying for and racing at Kona. Plus all that is in between.

Success at an age group performance level can mean winning races overall. It can also look like successfully making the transition to the professional ranks.

Whilst you will see many HPT athletes on the podium, the real deal lies with allowing an athlete to achieve their goals and exceed their personal expectations.
