Fire up ! 🔥

It’s still Singapore like weather here in Sydney and as such, it can be like breathing through a straw at times. Up the hydration game. Get lots of water in. It’s here for another couple of weeks no doubt.

I banged on like a coach does about this block and I havent been disappointed. Long rides and runs getting longer. Intensity getting specific, runs off the bike, race specific nutrition practice. The focus is good and where it should be.

It’s not just about more - it’s about specific training to meet or exceed the demands of competition.

As the month unfolds, increase your preparation and make sure that what happens between the sessions is as good as the sessions themselves.

ProVelo Cronulla Crits

It was great to watch some good old fashioned high level crit racing on our doorstep on Saturday. Congrats to Harry Wiles who raced Cat 1 and came 5th. This was a crazy race with a LOT of early pace. The 3 that escaped off the front chipped away at making a split early and it worked. Harry was fantastic in the chase but doing everything he could to bridge. In the end he really didnt have the support in the group and thats bike racing. In the end they gave the chase group an early sprint finish and he held on for 5th overall.

Victor Harbour

Kerry Morris and James Knight headed down to South Australia this weekend to hit up the Standard Distance qualifier and came away with some great points through strong racing. James came 2nd in his AG in 2:37. Kerry grabbed 6th place with her 3:06. I love their ability to seamlessly travel to a race, execute and then come home and slide back into training post recovery. It’s a key skill that never fails to produce the goods.
