Spring
It’s definitely getting warmer and the races are getting busy. Lot’s to catch up on this week.
First off we have a race result from 2 weeks ago. Kylie Fountain our intrepid Adventure Racer took on the KAC XC Classic. This race is a 10km cross country ski race from Perisher to Charlotte Pass and Kylie took on the “freeestyle” race. This is a technique where you race with the ski tips apart, tails together and push off the inside edges. Kylie did the race in an impressive 50:09.
Next up was the first of our Townsville Worlds racers. Cheyne Lowder raced in the Standard Duathlon (10/40/5) and had a killer race looking strong all day. Not sure if you have experienced the special type of pain that is riding off a hard run but it’s a tough one! Cheyne finished in 2:13:44 and 12th place. Great race Cheyne. Your context of training hard with two young twins and a busy job inspires everyone.
Harry Wiles continues to impress. This weekend in his last race of his Euro trip he took on the Allgäu Middle Distance Triathlon. Hills again !! more hills, so many hills ! … more tough courses and more tough Euro athletes. Man it’s a strong environment that really develops you. Harry came in “P4” and took plenty of positives away despite the tough just off the podium feels. A few weeks holding fitness now to finish his trip and he will be back to take on the Aussie summer and work on his T100 points.
