The Gong
It was a wild kind of day down in The Gong yesterday. It was either pouring down hard or not raining at all. Various races experienced various scenarios of that, but generally it wasn’t as bad as maybe we expected. Everyone handled the conditions with calm heads and strong racing. We now have home town advantage for Worlds in October ! I hope you are ready to get the work in for that!
Thanks to everyone that contributed to a great day. The supporters, team photographers, the help putting the tent down, the athletes racing and then supporting before or after their race, the bike mechanics. Everyone !!! Thank you ! There’s been many times in the past when I have tried to do all of that on my own, but if I have built a great team (and I have) then I don’t need to as we all contribute in our own ways to what we have.
This photo below sums up a lot of things for me. Dougie Parra racing and enjoying every second of the experience. If you haven’t met Doug, make sure you get to know him. He trains hard, does everything he can to be better everyday and does it all with an energy and enthusiasm that is unbridled.

Next Weekend
It’s a busy week of racing next weekend. We have athletes in Port Macquarie for the Ironman and 70.3. We have athletes also in the Royal Challenge right here in the National Park, we also have athletes competing in the Sydney Half Marathon and the Mudge Classic bike gran fondo.
