We are racing again and it was pretty busy too this weekend.
Things kicked off with the local Friday Night Crits and we had 4 athletes racing. Well done Erica Galea, Jarrod Crump, Josh Landsberry and Zane Galea.
Down in Adelaide we had Hannah Goerges, Lachlan Hess and Alex Loughrey doing the TDU thing but doing the Adelaide Epic event in amongst it. 135km and plenty of vert too. Well done to Hannah who took out first in her age in 6:19. Lach finished in 6:29. Alex wasnt able to finish as his back gave out on him.
Erica Galea backed up on Saturday night for the State Duathlon champs and went 1:27. Nice to see you racing again EG !!
Lastly I am just back from the Australia Day Aquathon where we had 2 athletes, Harry Wiles and Jonah Newton. Awesome racing saw them both on the podium. Harry came 2nd overall and 1st in age in 35:21 and Jonah came 3rd overall and 2nd in age in 36:05.
That’s just the start and we will be backing up this weekend with Stockton Tri, Shark Island Swim and The Sun Run 10k.
Athlete Guide:
Amongst the many things i have been doing over the break in the yearly review is creating an HPT Athlete Guide. This document will cover many areas and will be designed to guide you on how to work within the coached HPT environment. It will over areas such as communication, race support, coaching philosophy, data use, testing etc.
Coaching evolves continually and it seems exponentially so over the last few years, so the goal is to help everyone understand how things work. For the newer athletes it will be especially helpful I feel.
Will start releasing it next week.
