HPT News Dec 15
One last flurry of racing for the year and that pretty much wraps up the competitive side for 2025.
It’s been a big one !
This week we had athletes racing Callala Triathlon, Hyrox Melbourne and the local Shimano Super Crits.
Callala :
Great racing over a challenging course and plenty of blinng sums this one up. Keaton Tull raced well for his 2:16 which was 4th in age and 13th OA. Scott McGrath made a welcome to return to racing and picked off the 55-59 AG with a dominant win in 2:31. Angie Coleman made her return to racing too and picked up 3rd in the sprint with a 1:31. Jade Coleman wasn’t to be outdone in the family so he grabbed 3rd also in the Standard in 2:31. To finish it off, Alex Loughrey came first in age in the Aquabike in 1:50.
Hyrox Melbourne :
Some hardcore racing in this event saw some strong PB’s. Julien Lamy went 1:11, and in the teams events Jen and Sophie Lamy Medina went 1:32, whilst Sammy and Josh Revell smashed it with a 1:06 !
Super Crits :
Harry Wiles tried his best to control the group, found himself off the front with a couple of laps to go, but got caught at the end. That’s crits for you ! A cruel sport but a lot of fun.
That’s it for racing this week ! Don’t forget we have the HPT Beer Mile this Thursday at 6pm at Waratah Track, and our HPT Christmas Party is on Sunday afternoon at 3pm at Sunday Road Brewing !
Thanks to everyone for checking in on me after surgery. Doc’s were happy and I got out early 2 days post surgery. For now it’s the patience phase and doing all my rehab every day.
Next week i will do my best to wrap up our huge 2025 and give you a peek into what 2026 will bring.
See you then !
