Club Champs

Forster is a great place to race and I am really happy the race is based in town these days. Swimming off Main Beach is awesome and running over the Tuncurry Bridge is iconic. Not 100% sure they have the bike course right but we can’y have everything.

Two HPT athletes repped their clubs and it was a household battle. Kerry Morris from Warringah Tri Club in the blue corner and James Knight from Cronulla Tri Club in the red corner. Kerry nailed it for an athlete with almost no running of late due to knee issues. She would never hear of not pulling on the club colours for this race and finished strong in 2:13. James was fresh off his great Ironman result 3 weeks ago and was pumped to hit the short course action. James raced really well also and went 1:42.

The result ? Warringah Tri Club took the title out of Division 1 NSW Club Champions and no doubt James will be copping a serious bit of sledging all week from Kerry.

In other race results - congrats to new HPT athlete Douglas Parra who PB’ed his Park Run on the weekend in 24:31. First time under 25 !

Riley Kilham

You may or may not know that “Killer” is over in Switzerland for two weeks at the moment. First week doing a looooong hilly trek and the second week hitting the festivals. In 7 days Riley has racked up 35 hours of walking, including 120km of ground covered and over 7000m of elevation gained. What a great effort !

The Flu

It’s never a good sign if im making a little list in my notes with who is down with the flu. If you want to avoid getting sick then with it spreading so fast amongst the community at the moment you should take extra precautions. Consider a flu shot. Up the hand hygiene game and generally get on top of nutrition and sleep. Your immune system is busy enough without slipping on the little things.
