Spring
Some excellent racing this weekend. Congrats to Kelly Linton, Dylan Synnott and Paul Linton on their races in Sunshine Coast 70.3. Also to Jarrod Denny on his race at the local 5k club Kayak race.
Sunny Coast will always bring the heat. Both figuratively and literally. But the the team handled it really well. For Kelly it was her first 70.3 and whilst she was nervous she also knew she had done the work. Kelly smashed it in 6:51. Even after a tumble on the bike forced her to get help off the mechanics she got herself moving again and stayed strong ! Dylan was there ready to go after his trip to Port Mac ended in the ED following a diabetes hypo. Dyl was there resplendent in his retro 2011 HPT Tri Suit as proud as you could be in front of his family and finished in 5:58. Paul has eyes on a solid race for his Kona prep and targeted sub 4:30. Well he nailed it with a killer last 3km effort that had him finish in 4:29:47.
A quick mention to those HPT girls that got behind Kelly with tips, messages of support and encouragement for her first Long Course ! Means a lot that our team gets behind our team.
Jarrod has stepped up the paddling in prep for 20 Beaches (Manly to Palm Beach) and picked up a small PB on little prep over winter. It’s clear that all the work. he has done in the gym and out on the road and trails has served him really well. JD reports feeling the strongest and fittest he has ever felt.
