Sydney

The Sydney Marathon is gathering momentum again. This year we got some cooler weather but the wind was a bit cruel. Change of seasons doing its thing.

Big congrats to Craig Dortkamp in the Marathon. When we first started working together we discussed the Mara and then set it aside as a goal but not a major goal. So training remained mixed and the plan was to just pay attention to the long run mainly. We did that quite conservatively too. Knowing Craig was a great runner gave us confidence to continue to build ride and swim as well.

3 hours was the goal and that was beaten by one whole minute with a 2:59:00. A great race, with great strength and great pacing (courtesy of the 3 hour pacers).

Well done also to Erica Galea who did the 10k as a part of training going 58:58 taking happy snaps and enjoying the vibe.

This week we have Western Sydney - one of our bigger races with 9 in the 70.3 and 2 in the sprint. Good luck to all and I will see you at transition bright and early. Looks like great weather on it’s way.
