The Big One

Husky :

This is always our biggest race of the year. It attracts a crowd. With plenty of races over the weekend it has something for everyone. Tri’s over Sprint, Classic and Ultimate distances, the Classic Aquabike and of course the Swim on Friday and Runs on Saturday arvo all gave us a chance to showcase our work.

Huge congrats to Harry Wiles and Jonah Newton putting it on the line in the Pro race. We are all super proud to have 2 athletes in that field. For Jonah it was his first crack at that level - 10th place was a great reward. For Harry, he showed a lot of class to pull off a 5th there being a player for most of the race.

Congrats to everyone that raced ! A list which included 2 athletes doing their first tri’s - well done Craig and Dougie ! Bad luck to Humps, Erica and Steve who couldn’t finish their races.

We had some great results with 4 podiums in there. Well done Jeff Davis - 2nd Classic , Nathan Dixon - 2nd Aquabike, James Bonamy - 2nd Aquabike and Josh Revell - 3rd 5k run.

Finally, it would be remiss of me to not say a HUGE thanks to all the supporters over the weekend. Thank you for either coming to the race to support a partner or even going back out on course to cheer the others home. It means a lot. I have had many messages over the years congratulating HPT for our team spirit and support. Take a bow everyone !
