Long Weekend Vibes

It’s cool and crisp in. Sydney and we head to Cairns next week for the last tri of the 2024-2025 season. I’m really looking forward to a bit of warmth and some hot racing.

RACING :

This weekend we had our usual mix of local racing.

Harry Wiles and Chris Visvis raced Saturday and Sunday in the SOUPA Crit Series. Saturday at Sutherland and Sunday at Landsdowne. Both lads raced well. Harry was dominant at the front all day and Chris played things a little cooler as he ventured his way into doing some bike racing again. Chris did a YouTube on it. I highly recommend taking a look at it.

Jarrod Denny raced the local kayak clubbie and is progressing nicely. 27:36 was his time for the 5k.

TESTING :

We are getting through the tests nicely and for some we have a complete swim, bike run set. For others we have partial results and for some testing can be delayed as the timing might not be quite right for you.

I am currently working on ways that we can have the test results easily accessible. Previously i put them on a “Note” but that’s not easy to find if looking back. Stay tuned here.

I will also be updating your zones over the coming week as I see fit based on the test results.

“NOTES” :

You may have noticed the change to the notes facility in Training Peaks lately. The main change being that athletes and coaches get notifications when a note has been posted. This is great and it will be great for keeping track of conversations and things like goals or injury / illness in your program.

It does have one downfall but … if a note is updated or edited it doesn’t let anyone know. The upshot of that is don’t update or edit a note. Just post a new note. I will do the same.

OFF-SEASON :

Once I get back from Cairns I will speak on what the Winter / Off-season will look like. Approaches you should take to plan next season and how you should reflect on your recent races and training to improve performance.

THE SUTHO SESSIONS :

Monday - Swim 4pm (Public Holiday time)

Tuesday - Aerobic Run 6pm @ Brick Pit

Wednesday - Swim 6pm

Thursday - Track 6pm
