Rainy

HPT athletes doing big things on the weekend. Was a crazy weekend wasn’t it! The rain had the potential to derail plans but we took it in our stride. Great job. Sat/Sun swaps and long trainer rides got us through.

I have no idea how we ended up racing at Nepean and still got a swim, bike, run in after the storm that went through Sydney at 5am. Still scratching my head to be honest.

Paul Humphreys, Sam Taylor, Dan Inglese and Jarrod Crump lined up for the Sprint race under sunny skies and an adapted course to lay down some great racing. This crew could lay claim to some challenges leading in but didnt race like it, squeezing every last drop of juice out of what they had

Sammy went 1:22 to claim an 8min PB. Crumpy went 1:06 after nursing a foot issue for the last few weeks so thats a great result. Humps was fresh off the plane for a solid 1:12 and Dan laid down a strong 1:13. Two things here … Firstly I’m really proud of that race and the way we went about it. Secondly it was a fun morning with lots of laughs and awesome teamwork.

Later in the arvo Kelly Linton took on the 10k run and smashed it. The course had to be shortened a bit but Kelly went 48:xx and picked up a 3rd place in her age!! Kelly has been chipping away lately getting some good race experience in and it’s paying off.

Saturday still and Jarrod Denny headed up to Palm Beach for a dip back into racing at the NSW Surf Ski Championships. JD picked up the win in his age in the 13k. Top shelf effort !

Big shout also to the guys that swim in squad with us. Matt Bonny went 1:15 in the Nepean Sprint and Josh Landsberry came 1st in his age and 2nd overall in return to racing in the Nepean Aquabike.
