We have no races to report on this week but it’s now going to get busy …
As this is now the last 90 day block of the year it’s a great time to reset, refocus and recommit. Write down your goals and your commitments to those goals. It doesn’t take a crazy approach - just a steady discipline of getting the sessions done. If you get to Christmas with 3 good solid months under the belt then 2025 will be HUGE !!!
Given we dont have a race report, now is a great time to get some housekeeping items out there ….

HPT World Cup :
For those that may be new to HPT, the HPT World Cup is a Handicap Super Sprint Race that we do every year at one of the Elite Energy races.
First we did Nowra, then we did Callala…. and now …….
The Nepean Triathon - the oldest Triathlon in Australia
Date : Saturday the 29th March 2025
Distance : Super Sprint / Enticer - 250/10 / 2.5

Coach Communication :
At HPT we believe that communication between coach and athlete is one of the most vital success tools out there. That’s why we encourage Training Peaks comments and messages as much as possible. A big mistake I often hear is “I didn’t want to bother you” …. but please … bother me. That’s coaching and that’s what works.
Training Peaks comments - Write as much or as little as you want. Just the discipline of giving me some context of how the session went is super valuable. Then I can add value back hopefully with my thoughts.
There’s no real rules or restrictions as such for messaging - we need flexibilty in this space - but here is a bit of a guide that may help.
7am to 7pm - Most days im up and about having coffee by 7am and I will put my phone away after I get home from training around 7pm. If you can keep to that 7-7 window it will help.
Weekends - Like everyone, I like my Sundays to be my time … BUT… races happen on Sundays and i will either message you to see how you went or expect you to message me with your result. Just try to keep the training questions to Mon-Sat.
The Newsletter and an SMS alert comes out Monday unless I am travelling home from a race.
