Team News - 4th Nov
Definitely one of our busiest weekends for a while with athletes racing in Noosa, Husky and Bathurst as well as quite a bit of club racing.
Pretty simple really - HPT were outstanding and podiums were plentiful !
Congrats to Harry Wiles for the overall win in Husky. That one was special. The way he took on the race and controlled the outcome as much as he could with strategic, strong racing was excellent.
Nice job to everyone who raced. Plenty of bling in the HPT cupboard this week.
Keep an eye on those socials for team movements and updates.
Latest Updates
I want everyone to prioritise using this newsletter as a place for squad info like social dates and training advice. Yes I will back that up in socials but socials disappear into the cyberspace easily and you can always come back to the Squad News page to find info.
Training Peaks
As you have noticed no doubt I am presenting programs more in blocks these days. This will be valuable to the athletes and the coaching team as we will be able to see the goals for the block and how we will progress, peak and build our way through the year.
This is different for me as I need to change work processes for adjusting plans based on changes to your work and family lives. So please make sure you keep things up to date in TP with key travel dates and races you have entered.
De-Load
The impotance of de-loading can’t be over-stated. Sometimes it feels awkward to stick to the structure as you may have had a bad week and dont want to back off but its important to keep your patterns as we close in on a race. Programs work backwards from a race date and changing periodisation patterns can have ramifications all the way down the line to race day.
Have Your Say !!
A simple reply to this email with a suggestion or idea is all it takes for me to take your thoughts on board. Be it team apparel, training programs, testing, reporting…. anything is on the table and your opinions are valued.
