Recovery Week

In Recovery Week I like the athlete to do some reflecting on their recent block of training. Reflections are a great part of any "system" of improvement.

Do .. reflect .. adjust .. Do again

I dug the whiteboard out to give you an idea of the types of things to reflect upon at the end of a block. Not an exhaustive list, but a few good areas to look at.

Some examples of reflection areas ……

  • How is my motivation ?

  • What new equiment might I need moving forward ?

  • What process goal might serve me well in my next block ?

  • What will my life and work demands be next block ?

  • How did I do with nutrition ?

  • How much did I shift my 5min power this block ?

With a week of less "doing", it's a great chance to do a bit more "thinking".
