Plenty To Like

Back on the newsletter after a week off and there’s plenty to chat about.

After a solid block of racing Sunny Coast and Western Sydney 70.3’s and Kiama Tri we now head off this week to Wollongong for Worlds and Bowral for the Cycling Classic.

Kona

The 2026 version of Kona Ironman World Championships was held yesterday and what we saw was good old fashioned hard racing. With athletes off the front in the swim. and bike you could expect that LCB and Taylor would go on with it.

Not so !

They capitulated to the island, the heat and the competition. The girls behind show true perserverence and grit to keep applying pressure , and stay in the game and were rewarded for that control and patience.

Bring on next year and a unified race again.

It’s Worlds Week in Wollongong !

This week HPT has 21 athletes representing their country in the World Triathlon Age Group World Championships, racing across Standard and Sprint Distances, Aquabike and Mixed Team Relay. 

We have given it our all in qualifying and preparing and now it’s our time to shine. 

Our motto this week is race hard, have fun and get around your mates.
