Our Challenges

Hi Team,

This week I want to start with refreshing the thought around what our challenges are. I could say your challenges of course, but your challenge is my challenge too. I share the journey with you.

So what exactly is your challenge? Is it to qualify doing a time that is probably a bit beyond your concept of possible? Is it simply to maintain the consistency needed? Is it finding time? Is it simply finding your mojo? That spark you had a few years ago. Is it getting out of bed early on Sunday morning to get your long run in? Is it dealing with the weight of self-expectation? Is it fear of other people’s opinions? Is it managing the expectations from your employer? Is it nutrition? Is it sleep? Is it sore legs?

Endurance training isn’t simple. It’s like trying to stand still on a beam while everyone is throwing stuff at you. Standing still sounds easy. It’s the things getting chucked at you that makes it hard.

Identify the enemy. Then we can strategise ways of taking them down. We can find ways of dodging bullets. We can get skilful at taking on these challenges. Most of the stuff above is stuff we can work on. It’s stuff we can have processes for.

You are not weak. You have unique challenges. Let’s work on them.

What are your unique challenges?

Race Results:

After a lot of races lately we only had one this week. Michael Ciantar did the Bondi Blue Water Challenge and finished in 47:11. A great way of tackling his open water skills as he preps for some big races coming up.
