One With The Lot

Husky

Husky Triathlon Festival lived up to expectations. It was a big weekend with great results, great teamwork and awesome support.

Husky is a package deal - If it was a Burger you would call it “One with the Lot”.

As such, to go into everyone’s races would be difficult and wouldnt do it justice.

So let’s do it as a summary.

Friday night saw the Ocean swim and Bonner’s entered late after a massive storm blew in. Nice race by him.

Saturday was sprint day and the results were awesome. No bling today, so given our times and PB’s that means the short course world is getting quicker and quicker. Plenty of first timers sure, but also lots of athletes with strong sprint distance games and polished transitions. With Wollongong Worlds on the cards we will sharpen our short course skills in training.

Sunday was the Ultimate, the Classic, and the Classic Aquabike. Lots of bling today ! plenty of PB’s and first timers too.

In the “bling” department”, Harry Wiles was 4th Pro. A very strong, agressive race and tactically a huge step forward. Jimmy Martin had a monster run and went 1st in his AG and 2nd age group athlete overall. New HPT athlete Nathan Dixon smashed a super strong race out in the Classic distance. He finished 2nd in his age behind a former Pro and was 3rd overall. James Bonamy killed the Aquabike. He finished on the top step of the podium and 3rd overall. James Knight got a well deserved first place also (his first non-clubrace medal) and was 5th overall

Snowys Cross Tri National Champs

Darren Alchin targetted this race last year and was keen to get another taste. It’s a tough event this one and Daz really loves the challenge. He went 2:59, came 3rd in his age and that [picked him up Silver in the TA National Champs.
