News : Ultra

Nowhere near the numbers of last week’s races but we did have some action. Two athletes on Ultra debuts this weekend at SUM50 and one in the Harbour10. Plus the lads on tour doing Alpe d’Huez

SUM50

Josh Revell scored a late entry when the organisers released a few tickets a couple of weeks ago. This was ideal as Josh needed a 50 to validate his UTMB Miler entry. Justin Hess set his eyes on this one a few months ago and was ready.

Both athletes trained well. Consistency was on point and they both had clear race plans that they executed to perfection, adjusting as needed on the fly. This race was a hilly one too. 1600m of elevation in the 50km is solid vert.

Results : Josh - 5:45 and Justin - 6:49

Harbour10

One athlete in this one. Craig Dortkamp. Craig was acting as mentor / coach for his work crew and ran as a sub 44min pacer. End result was a 42:56.

Alpe d’Huez

Whilst not a race as such, the guys over in France on tour did this famous climb and smashed it. Well done Pete Ruskin, Paul Humphreys and Dan Inglese. Looked like a lot of fun - if you call 14km at 8% (1100m vert) and 21 hairpin bends fun!
